Re: Broadband Activation

Ah - so you fell foul of the OFCOM anti-slamming regulations. Any new supplier has to wait 10 days until they can take over a connection.

Re: Broadband Activation

It means that if you tell your previous ISP you are leaving, rather than leaving all the work to the gaining provider, there is a 10 day gap before they can take over the line.

Re: Broadband Activation

But according to my old ISP, as of 13th May, they no longer provided my broadband and I was no longer a customer.

I signed up to Plusnet on 21st May and received my activation date of 24th May on the same day.

Re: Broadband Activation

Fix

13th to 24th = 11 days. As your old ISP disconnected you on the 13th, Plusnet had to wait until after the 23rd, which they have done, and are connecting you on the next working day.

Re: Broadband Activation

Ah ok. So even though Openreach have already done the work their end, Plusnet are not allowed to connect me until tomorrow due to those rules.

Thank you!
