Broadband speed

Hi I'm looking to switch to PlusNet from BT I presently have fibre to the cabinet, but PlusNet is only offering 1.5 to 5Mb, with BT I’m getting about 15Mb I've spoken to an advisor who said PlusNet uses the same infrastructure so I would have thought the speeds would be the same, has anyone any thoughts on this? Thanks

@richarha Welcome to the forums. Those speeds sounds dire for FTTC. Can you post a screenshot of https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL -.making sure your phone number is not exposed?

It's possible that your FTTC cabinet is full and awaiting more capacity. If that is the case then all that you can do is wait for Opentreach to make more ports available. If there is a waiting list then once you give uo your current connection it is likely to be allocated to someone else. In the meantime all that Plusnet can offer you is ADSL,

The ADSL checker data linked by @jab1 will confirm if this is the case.
