Broadband to Full Fiber

Can I upgrade to Full Fiber Extra and still use my bt hh6 router for the WiFi around the house ?

@Zora27 'Full Fibre Extra' doesn't exist - do you mean Full Fibre (i.e. FTTP) or Fibre Extra (i.e. 80/20 FTTC)?

In either case, the Hub2 is what you would use, as that is all PN supply.

Re: Broadband to Full Fiber

Hi John
Sorry I wasn't very clear. I'm currently on Unlimited Broadband and running a bt hh6 in the house for my WiFi as the Plusnet router wasn't suitable for our coverage.
Coming to the end of my contract and I am considering changing to FTTP but don't want to compromise my WiFi in the house by having to change the router if that makes sense .

Re: Broadband to Full Fiber

@Zora27

If it’s an original Smarthub 6 then no unless it is either labelled Ultrafast or one of the later FTTP versions. These models are clearly identified with a red WAN sticker fixed to one on the LAN sockets.

However the Plusnet Hub 2 has the same wireless performance as a BT Smarthub apart from the fact that you can’t split the 2.4 and 5GHz bands.

Re: Broadband to Full Fiber

Thanks for the reply @baldrick.
The one I have only has the yellow Lan ports.
Would I be right in thinking I could still use this one as a slave to a Plusnet hub 2 by reconfiguring the settings ?
