I have a couple of email addresses for my own .co.uk domain. When I'm at home I have always accessed them using an accessdomain.com webmail address. As I understand it, accessdomain.com is a Godaddy site, and Godaddy hosts my website.
Anyway, the problem which manifested itself a couple of months ago is that I can't access my mail when using our Plusnet wi-fi at home. I can still access it from anywhere else.
If I disable the wi-fi connection on my phone I can access webmail using the 4G connection, but turning wi-fi back on kills it. I get a "took too long to respond" message.
What could cause this?
Fixed! Go to the fix.

Can you force your phone to use Google DNS '8.8.8.8' when connected to your Plusnet WiFi ?

Aren't the DNS server settings usually stored in the router?
By the way I don't normally use my phone to access my mail, I usually use my laptop. The phone example was just to show that it is a problem with the wi-fi / broadband connection.

That depends on the Hub you have, for the Hub two you can change the DNS servers here
http://192.168.1.254 Advanced Settings >My Network >IPv4 Configuration >DNS Servers Auto NO
Add your preferred servers.
The Hub will need to be rebooted, it might be necessary to reboot all the devices as well.

I have a Hub 1. It looks like I can't change the DNS settings:
Primary and Secondary DNS
Address of your service provider's DNS Server (Domain Name Server).
Note: this is used to translate web URLs into IP addresses. This server setting is allocated automatically when you connect to broadband. You can't change it yourself as it is set by the Network.

OK, I changed the DNS settings on my Windows 10 laptop to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
The problem is still there.
