My current FTTC contract is due to expire at the end of this month.
If I enter my address into the Plusnet website, I am still not able to order full fibre. The Openreach website says they are currently installing FTTP in my exchange area, but can't give me a definite availability date, just the default "by end of December 2026". If I enter some addresses on the road at the end of our road into the Plusnet website, then FTTP is available, so hopefully it won't be long before Openreach install fibre up our road.
If I renew my contract for another 24 months will I be able to upgrade to Full Fibre if it becomes available during the lifetime of my contract?
I also noticed that the price that I have been quoted for renewal is £1 more than the price quoted for the same package if I just enter my address into the Plusnet website without logging in. I think a bit of haggling is required, as I can get the same package from other providers for less.
Fixed! Go to the fix.

If you take out an FTTC contract now, then should FTTP become available during its life, you would be able to switch penalty-free, you would just start another minimum term contract.

To haggle ring the Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632. This number is normally answered quite quickly.

I just managed to haggle my monthly bill down from £29.94 to £22.99, before referral discount, for a 24 month contract by switching to the Fibre SoGEA product, which is just broadband without the landline.
We never use the landline for outgoing calls and maybe get 1 incoming call a month, so we will not miss it.
Hopefully Full Fibre will become available in our road in the very near future so I can upgrade to that. 😀

The following will tell you if FTTP becomes available - use the Address version. You're looking for WBC FTTP in the left hand column.

To confirm if FTTP is coming you could try

Hi Brian,
Curiously that page has FTTP on Demand in the Featured Products section with Availability Date = "Available" but then says "FTTP is not available" and "The exchange is not in a current fibre priority programme" below.
The Openreach website just says that they are installing FTTP in my exchange are but it is not yet available at my address.
I know it is currently available in the road that my road joins, so hopefully my road will get it installed soon.

FTTP on Demand is an entirely different and some what expensive product which PN doesn't offer. It's more for the rich and businesses who can afford to pay.
Do a weekly check to see if your status changes.

I enquired about FTTP on demand a couple of years ago. Quote was an estimated £38k, plus any unforeseen costs that may be incurred by Openreach . . .
Eye-watering pretty much sums it up!
