Hi everyone, I have had the same hardware for 12months now and a couple of weeks back we started having packet loss - please see attachments. This has impacted a multitude of games across different platforms, wired & WiFi and now this weekend it has gotten so bad nobody in the house can game at all. This all seemed to have started when there was an Openreach engineer on the telephone pole which feeds our house. It was very intermittent but as of yesterday it is now constant.
We have tried swapping our router for another, swapping cables over, trying WiFi rather than wired, kicking everything off the WiFi - nothing seems to work.
I have reached out to the support team which suggested a static IP from their side - but doesn't seem to have had any effect.
I am a bit hung up on the engineer and telephone pole - could they have damaged something?
Any suggestions welcome
Tin

Which router/Hub are you using?

I'm using a Plusnet Hub Two - but have also tried a TP-link Archer C7 (AC1750).
I've just swapped the TP-link back in to see if anything improves over the next 24hours.

Pity you have done that - the Gub2 would have given some useful information that the TP-Link doesn't - at least not in an easily readable format.
It is quite possible that the engineer could have disturbed things.
Let us know how things go.

What product do you have FTTC/VDSL (copper cable to property) or Full Fibre (Fibre to Property) and the expected speeds?
For testing of your connection plusnet would preferer you use the Hub Two

This makes me wonder if something has started using OneDrive or similar and is flooding the upstream capacity of your connection.
The TP-Link router is capable of QoS setting.
That might be worth a try.
Also if you can see activity by device on the router, see if something is uploadung a lot.
It is also possible that some change in your connection has reduced the available upstream rate.

Hi all - thanks for the input - the TP-Link has made a difference - I had turned on the QoS setting and turned off NAT boost (as the two would conflict).
It's still not perfect - and today it has gone back for the past hour or so being extremely poor.
I will monitor if anything is hogging any bandwidth (up or down) - but so far it all looks ok.
A bit of a mystery so far and very strange Plusnet don't seem to be able to assist(?)
