Plusnet client affecting Netflix.

Overnight my Plusnet client changed from 194.75.222.26 to 150.143.111.18. Using the new client has affected my Netflix account so that some favourite programmes aren’t now available. It’s like the new Plusnet server is running a proxy or VPN. Can this be checked?

Accessing my Netflix via mobile data show no issue at all.

Re: Plusnet client affecting Netflix.

@Andy87 when you say your 'Plusnet client' do you mean your external IP on your Hub?

Re: Plusnet client affecting Netflix.

It’s the Plusnet server that routes my traffic to the wider web I guess. Using fast.com you can see this in the additional information section.

Actually, it is Netflix using out of date/incorrect IP information - your new IP is an ex-US one which has been transferred to the UK, and correctly registered here. I checked after replying to you.

…and those IP’s listed in my first post were taken from my Netflix activity log and show the IP that was used to access the Netflix service.

I know that - but I have told you what the issue is.

Aha….that would explain that issue then. Something for me to chase up with Netflix.

Re: Plusnet client affecting Netflix.

If Netflix thinks that’s still a US IP then why am I not able to access some content on it that I AM able to see if I VPN to a US destination?

Re: Plusnet client affecting Netflix.

@Andy87 Or you could try hitting the 'disconnect' button on your Hub, switching it off and leave it off for >65minutes and see if you get a new IP. No guarantees, as IP's are allocated from small local pools, but it is worth a try.

Because that VPN could be routing via the US, or even using a US IP.

I forgot to say thanks. Do you have a favourite IP checking website that I can mention in my chat withNetflix?

Not really. It is up to them to maintain up-to-date records, but if you want to check what I have said, I usually use https://iplocation.io/
