Router red after being out all day

I have only been a customer since around June this year, so this is a pretty disappointing experience so far.

The service kept dropping so an engineer came and changed the socket (?)

All has been reasonably fine since then with the occasional restarts needed.

The became more frequent this month so I raised the issue, they could see it was happened and sent a boost (?) this stabilised the connection for about 2 days so they closed the fault.

2 days in a row since they closed the fault, I have returned home from work to no wifi and my router's light being a solid red. Nobody is in during the day and all appliances are off until I get home. Why would this be happening?

Re: Router red after being out all day

Hiya @_HMow, thanks for getting in touch on our forums. I am really sorry for the issues that you are having with your service.

I have checked the connection and can see there has been a few drops occur over the last week, with a period of downtime yesterday. I have tested the line, but this hasn't detected any faults that may have caused this to occur.

Going forward, I would advise to get the router connected to your test socket for the time being as shown here: https://community.plus.net/t5/Library/Testing-From-The-Master-Socket/ba-p/1322242 as this will help to rule out an internal cause.

If you then experience further issues, please log a fault with us here: https://faults.plus.net so we can progress this further for you. If you log a fault via this link, just give us a nudge on here and we can get that picked up for you.

If this post resolved your issue please click the 'This fixed my problem' button
