SNR Margin high and very slow speed

Hello, hope you can help. Yesterday evening my broadband started to drop frequently, it would connect then disconnect every minute. It did this for hours. I'm on very old ADSL 1 technology but my line is normally quite stable.
I woke up this morning to find the speed had dropped to around 2mbps which is almost unusable, with a SNR margin of 24.6. Normally this would be around 6db.
I was tempted to reset the router again tonight; however I didn't want to make things worse so BT thought I had another line drop.
Is it possible someone could look into this and maybe do a DLM reset for me, as I don't really want to go through the weekend with such slow speeds and wait for the line profile to recover (up to 72 hours if I'm correct)?
Many thanks!

@GarryB62 With an SNR figure as high as that, I sincerely doubt a 'DLM reset' will sort it. I suggest you follow the below:
First thing to check: Is your phoneline clear? Dial 17070 (preferably from a corded phone), select option 2. Once your phone number is confirmed, there should be silence on the line except for the regular 'Quiet Line Test' message - any other noise, report a PHONE problem via: https://www.plus.net/help/report-a-problem/phone/
If the phone test passes, report a broadband problem via: https://www.plus.net/help/report-a-problem/broadband/
Let us know the result - if the tests come back as clear but you still have a problem, we need to investigate further.
The above assumes you still have 'normal' landline connection - if you have a SOGEA (internet only) one, just use the second link to report a network issue.
