I was wondering if someone from PlusNet could reset my SNR please? My speeds have dropped significantly.
Thank you.

@Arginine With respect, you need to find out why your speeds have dropped. An SNR reset will not sort it if there are network problems involved.

Hi @Arginine
I'm sorry to hear that your speeds have dropped.
After testing your line this morning I can't see any faults at the moment with the speeds being within your estimates.
Can you advise what speeds you're currently getting?

Speeds usually sit around 10-11 with an SNR of 6.
My SNR is currently at 9 and my speeds have dropped to 7.
Thanks.

Thanks for the extra info @Arginine
Your current DLM profile allows you to connect at a speed of up to 10Mbps so if you aren't maxing that out then there would be no point in doing a reset as there could be a fault on the line.
Can you confirm how you have things set up at the moment?

Max data rate is 11. Current data rate is 7.
Readings being taken directly from the Plusnet Hub. Connected directly to master socket. Absolutely nothing has changed on my end in years. The only thing that has changed is my SNR has been increased.
If there is a fault external to my property then how is this addressed?

If your setup hasn't changed the next step would be to book a engineer visit/
I've just sent you a text that you can reply to arrange this

You've sent engineers out before when this has happened. So have previous providers. I've had half a dozen engineers out over the last 10 years. Every single time they find nothing wrong with my set up, which again, has not changed whatsoever. I'm not taking a day off work to have the same thing happen again.
Can you just reset my SNR back to 6 please.

It is worth a read of @Arginine last thread https://community.plus.net/t5/Broadband/SNR-Reset/m-p/1902988#M353599
It seems an SNR reset is requested on a frequent basis, they get a slight improvement in speed before the same thing happens again. I believe there is a saying about doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results!
So, what are the results of the BTW DSL checker - obscure your number when posting the results back on here
https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL
Is there any noise on the line - dial 17070 option 2?
Are you getting any regular breaks or drops? Is a Radius graph available for the line?
It could be that the line is only able to provide 7Mbps reliably, so pointless to ask for resets every few weeks.

I would hardly call once a year "frequent".
I agree about doing the same thing over and over, which is why I am not having ANOTHER engineer out to tell me the same thing AGAIN.
The BT checker states a max speed of 13.
The line is capable of speeds of 10-11, which I have had for >95% of the time of the last 10 years when the SNR is at 6. The SNR is now at 9 and my speeds are at 7, which is exactly what has happened before. Resetting the SNR has fixed this before. Can I please just have my SNR reset?

Could you just answer the questions and post the results of the DSK checker?

Don't see why I'm having to justify myself to random people who do not work for Plusnet. Do I need to phone Plusnet instead to accomplish the incredibly simple task of having a SNR reset?

@Arginine that is one of the things with posting on a public forum, helpful and perhaps more knowledgeable people can jump in and also respond. I posted your other thread as you had several resets at the last few months of last year, so hardly one reset in a year, and you mention other suppliers had done the same.
The easy option, is just to do yet another reset, but given your history of resets, getting to the bottom of the issue would seem a more preferable outcome.
The DSL checker output will provide much more information which when seen people can explain to you.
If you are using a Hub1, the Help Desk tab in the advanced section will provide more information. If not a Hub 1, let us know which router and we can point you to the equivalent tab.
A Radius log from PN as well as their KBD or other line check info will show more details. CS have a limited set of tools to try and fault find, easy options can be a line reset, or for consistent issues if tests show the need, send an Openreach engineer out.
Fellow forum members can help you diagnose details posted on here, should you wish to benefit from them donating some of their spare time.
So not justifying yourself, but a bit more effort from you, but also from PN will hopefully get to the bottom of the problem.

@Mustrum Give it up as a bad job - the OP never even responded to my initial post - I only kept quiet after as Matthew Wheeler picked it up.
