Whats "LCP down" mean............ ?

Looking at my router Log (Netgear DG834G) just now along with lots of "Loss of Sync" I also see LCP is down, what does this mean?  Is it a problem with my router or maybe something else?
Fri, 2010-09-03 08:53:50 - LCP down.
Fri, 2010-09-03 08:53:55 - Initialize LCP.
Fri, 2010-09-03 08:53:55 - LCP is allowed to come up.
Fri, 2010-09-03 08:54:44 - Administrator login successful - IP:192.168.0.2
Fri, 2010-09-03 08:54:55 - Initialize LCP.
Fri, 2010-09-03 08:54:56 - LCP is allowed to come up.

It means that your router lost connection to the internet.
This can occur at a loss of sync or if Plusnet change their version of the IP profile which will also give that report but in this case your router won't have lost sync with the exchange
From my router log the first one was a resync and the second one was from Plusnet changing their profile

LCP is Link Control Protocol.
As Jim says, it basically means your connection has dropped.

Hi lowercase,
A great place to understand some of the complexities of broadband is the ADSL part of the kitz website but judging by those messages I would say that in the first instance you should raise a fault so we can investigate this further for you.
