Hello,
After experiencing WIFI problems with my last router Plusnet sent me out a new one, for the past 2 weeks this has been working as it should, however the only slight issue is that that then wifi network name still appears on the list and you can connect using the password I set. Is there a way of removing it? With my new router I am running it (for now) using the default settings.
Fixed! Go to the fix.

HI @mikep72
Sorry, I'm a little confused here - do you mean that the WiFi name that was set to the OLD router is still showing your your list of available connections when you search for WiFi networks on your device?
I presume the old router is no longer plugged in?
Thanks,
MoR

I was tempted to ask that, @MasterOfReality - but then I thought 'no, that just isn't possible', and decided to leave it to someone else.

If running Windows;
1.Click the Network icon at the lower right corner of your screen.
2.Click Network/Internet settings.
3.Click Manage Wi-Fi settings.
4.Under Manage known networks, click network profile you want to delete.
5.Click Forget.
That wireless network profile is deleted.

I have found out what is broadcasting my old network SSID..it was a pair of TP link power line adaptors that weren't paired correctly. I have now set them up and the old name has disappeared from my list of available networks.

Whenever I've updated/changed my router ( or homeplug with wifi ) I've always changed the new router to the old network name and password, meaning that i dont have to change the settings on multiple devices, same network name (SSID) same password different router
