Re: Peak time latency spikes

HTH. ptw-ag04 21CN LVRNE (not my connection by the way) fine tonight TBB pings perfectly normal, not showing any of the nasty problems that was evident last night when they were on ptw-ag03, but was worse than what Barry was seeing before he changed Gateway.

Re: Peak time latency spikes

Last night was not to bad, but at 5.30am this morning its the worst it has even been, what could be causing this as obviously this is not peak time?  Sad
pcl-ag05 (20CN connection)

Edit: back to normal , ptw-ag04

Re: Peak time latency spikes

Speeds were back to normal today but have now stared to see the slowdown appear again .I see a fault ticket has been raised on my line ticket number 66218711 im wondering if the issues im having are anything to do with the openreach work my neighbour had done a few weeks ago where they dug outside my property and changed something but at the same time knocked out my line but reconected it after i had told them they hit my line quiet line tests appear ok no noise or cross talk but just maybe a coincidence.

Re: Peak time latency spikes

Friday nights are usually quite quiet.  If this is being driven by traffic contention somewhere, it may all be fine!

Re: Peak time latency spikes

It's good to see that people are aware of the problem at PlusNet. It gives me more confidence in the service  and to continue paying .
I'm currently getting pings to the servers I normally play Tf2 on over 700+ which are normally stable 24ms.
I hope you can sort out the issues soon and will continue to keep disconnecting until I connect to a better
gateway than:-pcl-ag05.

It seems to be a bit hit and miss at the moment. You can't choose a gateway anyway, you just have to hop and hope you get one that's good for you.

Re: Peak time latency spikes

@odged
Try pinging ntp.plus.net. That way you aren't influenced by factors outside your connection to Plusnet and the Plusnet network.
Also ping bbc.co.uk is another good one to try, but that of course goes out to the beeb.
