Error with notification count

I was beginning to think that this issue was fixed, but evidently not.

I guess those in charge of these boards don't know how to fix it or just don't care.

What browsers are folks using?

I have seen concurrently no notices and 101 at the same time.  Zero on my iPhone (Safari) and 101 on my laptop (MS Edge).  Seems to correct itself after a few page refreshes.

Using Chrome here, and as @billnotben said above, it doesn't appear every day for me.

Clears quickly, until next time ...

Firefox.

I'm on the forum every day, and I saw the '101' for the first time this morning. Disappeared as soon I left the page.

Edge Version 95.0.1020.40 (Official build) (64-bit) on Win10 [Version 10.0.19042.1288].

Seems okay today, just the correct number of notifications at the moment...

I'm using Chrome on my mobile and it's been showing 101 notifications every morning.

Since around the time of the '101' error appearing, I've noticed that as I browse the forum, I get the flowing circle of dots - very briefly - as a page loads. Significant, or coincidence?

Yeah, I notice/d those dots too, but couldn't be sure if they appeared at the same time as the notification count issue (but I dont particularly recall seeing them before...)

I had thought that it was just me. That it had been there all the time and I had just not noticed it before.

I expect it's all a result of a (sinking) raft of "improvements" and the resulting bugs.

Didn't they used to post any changes once upon a time?
