Wordpress will pick out URLs included in a blog post and will attempt to automatically process a trackback to it.
This is all well and good, infact, good way of pushing external content we mention and in our individual blogs, ensuring that follow-ups are mentioned in original postings.
However, content pushed the front-page of the community site, which is often only a stub for the real content in the comms blog for example, it pushing out a trackback.
Liam posted an item regarding CSC stats, with a small stub on the front of the site. This pushed a pointless trackback to the comms blog, which effectivly links to nothing.

Disabled. I'd actually argue that the other blogs should refuse Trackbacks, but that's up to the individual admins.

Automatic trackbacks in the individual blogs is actually very handy, and I would be interested in why you feel it should be disabled by said individual admins?
Automated linking between the sub-blogs is good, and the tackback obviously has a valid reason for its link.
It just seemed pointless when the primary purpose of the front-page so far seems to be as a stub for the others. Genuine trackbacks can still be processed via the trackback box.

Yer,
The main issue was resolved, the rest is a debate on if we should/shouldn't
