I think when it comes to animated avatars they should be a bit more subtle with the animation. When viewing a board that is dominated by a couple of users who all use fast animating gifs it can be a bit dissorientating.

You guys turned them off real fast!, I was just making a point and I dont wish for you to turn them off on my account by the way. But for me it does become over bearing in that context.

Well as Chris and Harry have changed their avatars back, I have now disabled the add-on - it used to block the animated smilies however, I might try and find a way of setting it just to deal with Jeremy's sig (I know, turn of sigs )

Ahh...breath of fresh air.....I've turned off signatures prompted mainly by Jeremy's annoying offering

Problem is that in order to moderate wayward signatures I have to turn them back on in order to see them in the first place
