I wouldn't call the abandonment of sub forums "too little change"!

I was probably thinking on the lines of perceived change John as much has been talked about in this thread (and the poll) of the location of Chit Chat.
Almost as though that was the only difference.
Just the thoughts of a casual observer....

I have now locked the poll but will leave this thread open until the new layout goes live at which point I propose to lock it and start a new discussion.

So do I - the problem as I see it is not the sub-forums but the Plusnet templates which are very badly designed with sub-forums taking up an inordinate amount of space.

Chat section at bottom is the way it used to be If I recall rightly and the NEW board layout also unless I'm mistaken is going back almost to what it was in the 90s before I left first time around ,Personally i like the new layout as it feels like an old friendly pair of slippers now wheres me pipe .So it's bottom for me as then you can skim though all the other usefull info on your way to have a grumble

We're hoping to get this done over the weekend Matt's organising the change control from our side and one the moderators has very kindly agreed to do the moving around over the weekend. We'll make the aesthetic changes the following week and look to update the 'Additional Options' wording at the same time.

Hi all,
Yes this is now going ahead on Saturday night (well, Sunday morning really - midnight to 2am at the latest).
We'll be putting the forum into maintenance mode in order to prevent any new posts but we're expecting minimal impact as there won't be many of you about at that time. I'll put this message into announcements and stuff and bump them tomorrow and Saturday so people know.
Also the pink bars won't go in until next week as that needs Mr Bunker's input - this is just the change to the new layout (with Chit-chat at the bottom :))

Hi Be3G,
Sorry you feel that way - we'd asked for volunteers to help in the Mods thread and since then it's been a matter of getting a date together for the move, which only happened yesterday. There's not been anything else to speak of, which is why nothing else has been posted there.
As for the date, it'll be this Sunday morning as I hoped would be apparent
