New forum - Can't upload Avatar from computer

Trying to upload an Avatar file from my own computer, doesn't work.

Within the forum, I navigate to "My Settings",

select the "Avatars" tab,

select the "From the Community" section, where it shows "Current avatar",

Clicking the hyperlink for "Upload an Avatar",

brings up a pop-up that says "Choose An Avatar From My Computer",

Selecting the [Browse] button does nothing.

There is no dialogue box to choose the file from the computer !

I know there are other ways of uploading the file, but this specific method is broken !.

Seems to be working fine for me. Could you provide further info to help us look in to this.

Do you experience the problem on multiple web browsers? Which browsers do you experience the problem on? Are the browsers the newest version etc.

Worked for me at launch and yesterday. I'll test again now.

Dialogue all working for me.

You know the usual IT cure for strange bugs Try clearing caches, close browser completely and re-open, if all else fails, reboot. See if it continues.

I suspect there is something different about the coding on that specific page, because everywhere else I've tried uploading a jpg to this forum from my computer works correctly and as expected, including that screenshot image in my original post in this topic.

When I first logged in to this forum and attempted to upload my Avatar, I managed to achieve it by uploading the image from my computer to my personal webspace, then uploaded that copy to this forum using a web URL.

No it still isn't working, and I don't really care, as I've managed to set it by my other method.

I just wanted to log the fact that I've seen yet another problem with this sodding forum, just in case another member is struggling, and to propose my work-around.

Plusnet can fix this themselves, or add it to their infamous "we're looking in to it" list.

We'd appreciate if you could provide us any further info as this isn't a problem I've experienced or any other staff who I've asked.

If you don't want to provide any of this information, it will just take longer to investigate and we may not even be able to replicate the issue

I tried in vain to upload some new images to this forum with no result.

Then I realised I had to make sure that Java was enabled in my browser.

Maybe there should be a "Frustrated" section on the forum.

But I expect no one would be able to get in and post on it.
