Bottom item on the right hand column

very badly hidden, you did not tell me it was on the home page, there used to be a link on the forum page, then when I looked at the bottom of the RH column I just saw the logo's for PlusNet, F9, Metronet and Free-online.  Since I am a Free-online customer, I hovered on the Free-online logo and it said visit free-online, this then took me to a page that said you should have gone to PlusNet, but again no clear way how to do that  Huh Lips_are_sealed Angry

Re: New skin bugs and tweaks

I'll get Jonny to model putting a special tab on the top which takes you to the portal?  That might work.

Arrggh!  that is rubbish I agree.  We absolutely will sort that asap.  As a Free-Online customer you do now 'get serviced' (if you'll pardon the expression) via the www.plus.net site.

I'm having a problem remaining logged in anywhere other than the forums - namely, for posting blog comments. When I try to, I'm just met with a few text boxes asking for my name, e-mail and so on, which I presumably shouldn't be getting because I'm already logged in. I assume this has something to do with the other logging in/out issues already mentioned, but still, I thought I'd mention it anyway in case it's not.

I'm getting this same issue from home, I can only log in to the forums. When I go back to the home page (via the new tab - admittedly nice, but I'd rather the main community logo linked to the home page rather than the forums as I'm used to the tabs already) I get the login link and the boxes Be3G describes above. Might be my error, I'll have a play about with cookies and stuff.
Gripes aside, I like the new look a lot and am keen on the wider view.

Re: New skin bugs and tweaks

Log out from the forums and then log in again from the front page.  That should fix it.

Re: New skin bugs and tweaks

The date below the heading is displayed incorrectly when viewing a blog post. e.g. "2008 at 14:39"

If I use the "new" button on the unread post, it navigates to the first item, then after a while jumps to where you were last at ...
On the old skin it did jump straight to your last view, much better

The 'new' link is a simple 'anchor' link to the first unread post in the thread. As far as I know it hasn't changed since the previous skin and I don't really understand what we could have done to produce the effect you describe. Have you changed anything in your browser config? fwiw it works fine for me here on firefox.

Suggestion why don't you move the link "Replies to your Posts" back on to the top of the page like it was on the old Forum.  Wink

"Replies to your Posts" is at the top of the page, in the white bar just below the forums tab.

It might be unnoticeable there Tamlyn, where you have super-speedy internet access Wink but the way its been described is the way that its always worked (so not a change as the culprit as such)
When the site runs quickly, the transition between the thread opening on the last page, and the scrolling of the page to the last post is barely noticeable, but because it relies on the page being rendered before it can drop you to the anchor position, any delay in rendering makes the delay noticeable.
The previous skin ran pretty quickly, so never really seemed a problem, but this one appears to be running slower. Hopefully its because you still have some performance tweaking to do to get it up to full speed once you've finished making the modifications/bug fixes.

I have noticed that the "New" button code closing </a> tag is commented out for some reason, which may have something to do with it, as in certain browsers proabably will work ok but othere may cause it not to work or ignore it.
Have fixed on my local version, will roll out with the other fixes later.

Re: New skin bugs and tweaks

I think it's fine as it is now.  It's just that it is a different design so things will look different and you'll just have to get used to it.
I find the show unread posts perfectly clear as it is now.

Yeah, it won't find the anchor until it's loaded hence the jump.  I'll make sure Jonny has a check at the page sizes.
