Have been 'Pro' for a while now, and had not experienced this current problem, until this morning...

Ranks have been frozen for now as I have turned off the formulas until this bug has been sorted. A strongly worded email has been sent demanding that this is sorted out asap.

Good clean fun. Made me laugh when I saw the rapid rise to the top for me.

It is quite funny when you think about it and its a good thing I had removed the elevated permissions for those high ranks as even new users got the rank.

I have been looking at the user search page, the amount of users obtaining this rank is going up by hundreds every few minutes! Even though I have disabled it.

I need to do something else.. maybe disable ranks entirely and stop the PM spam protection... but that could be even more risky...

I have got Louisa involved too. I made her aware of this when it was reported but it seems to have gone completely crazy in the last 24 hours.

Well @jaread83  as long as Lithium treat the report with their usual rapid (?) response - things will be fine.

Is there merit in putting things back as they were, allow the system to put everyone back on the correct rank and then turn it all off completely?  Does this issue need an announcement?

I am unable to assign ranks unfortunately.

The system was 'as it was' before. Something has changed in the core, probably via a platform update, and its going crazy and giving the top rank to everyone

Ah now I understands ... Lithium released some new bugs for us to test in live, whilst they are undertaking other activity on the pre-live test platform.
