Recent forum posts broken

Something has broken recent forum posts this morning.

And now it's working!  On the front page, right hand side, half way done.  The list of recent forum posts was blank this morning.

What's broken? I'm confused as the forums look fine to me...

Looks like the problem is being caused by things which are invalid in XML... will investigate fully on Monday.

This should be resolved - or at least, is on my test site.
