Jump to first unread post when viewing the unread topics works correctly 100% of the time irrespective of the jump to first unread post setting - if you click the correct link!

@jaread83 after a lot more digging on the test site I found the thread where the fix was noted so that clicking on the topic took you to the first unread post - I will send the link by PM - but this is where it used to be fixed

Same here. I've always clicked the topic title and been taken to the first unread post until now (with the appropriate settings box ticked).

Now I have to be more accurate with my targeting when using jelv's method.

Exactly. It is a pain in the rear having to click on a single digit when clicking the title is so much easier. Given that the system has a setting to force jump to first unread post then it should work no matter how you get to a thread, Like it has been doing since day 1.

I wonder if it would be possible to make the whole table cell around the unread count clickable so less accuracy is required?

I have received confirmation that a bug has been identified by the senior development team at Lithium and they have added this to their list of bugs to fix (jump to first unread post option affecting the unread topic page).

Apologies for any inconvenience caused by this. Will keep you updated on progress.

This bug has been resolved as part of version 17.4

We are currently on 17.2 and currently fixing our staging version up after an upgrade to the CSS for the most recent version of the responsive CSS.

Once we have got everything up to a standard and pushed those changes live, we will be finding out when we will be receiving the update to 17.4 from Lithium.

I will be testing this bug when we get the new version on staging - I don't have an ETA on that at the moment though.

I have been told that the 'jump to first unread post' bug has been resolved as part of the latest software update to 14.1. The only place I do not see it working on is the links on a topic title in the unread topics page but you can click the number for 'new' items at the end of the table row to get the same effect. It works from the board pages too.

Please take a look and let me know if this is working again for you.
