@Townman, a bad choice of words in this instance as I didn’t really log out as implied above, I simply close my browser. As a result of this all of my history is destroyed including cookies. This of course means I have to log in each time I return.
How the backend deals with this type of termination I don’t know, but as it’s not the graceful ending it would hope for, it should in theory still cope with any side effects raised as a result.
This is why I am of the opinion that the session management may be trashed, I know it's only speculation on my part but I have nothing else to offer to be honest.
