Topic sort order

A low priority 'annoyance'
I've noticed that sometimes when I view the forums, I get the posts in Date order i.e.  Oldest post at the top - whereas the normal order is Newest at the top.
As far as I can ascertain, this is one way to replicate the problem:
1)  ensure you are not logged on to the community.
2)  Access a topic via a link.  e.g. via this topic from the PUG comments forum.
This way usually results in the post order being oldest first?

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: Topic sort order

The default on phpBB, SMF and any other forums I've looked at is oldest at the top - so when you are not logged in that is what you get.
In your profile, under Look and Layout Preferences you have a non-standard setting activated - Show most recent posts at the top - obviously that will only apply when you are logged in.
Edit: Personally when there have been a number of replies I find reading from the bottom up an absolute pain. You do know that clicking the New icon in indexes takes you to the first unread post I assume - with oldest at the top that works a treat.
