Unable to turn off notification of some topics

'Replies to your posts' is replies to posts you have made - it will always show topics, whether you've asked to be notified or not. This is the way SMF works, and makes complete sense to me personally, so it's highly unlikely this will be changed unless the SMF developers make the change.

Moving this to resolved, although its now apparent that its not a bug, and never has been.

You are not correct. This HAS been a bug as I was receiving email notifications when I had unsubscribed to posts but they weren't in my profile.
So please don't make such comments as it serves no purpose

Have you received any emails recently for topics for which you have turned notification off?

No, haven't received the postini or squirrelmail ones for a good while, just now in 'replies to your posts' which I can live with. So that 'bug' has been fixed anyway 
Are you having problems relating to this or similar?

I think I got some at one time. A couple of weeks ago I went in to my profile/Notifications and Email and un-subscribed from ALL topics (rather laborious!). I haven't received any spurious notifications since so if there was a problem at some time I'm 99.9% certain it isn't happening now.
