Re: Urgent attention of @NickBS

You mean the one above, @Champnet ? I  am decidedly not a bot. I may no longer be a PN customer, but I promise, hand on heart, I am definitely not a bot.

Would a bot be as (hopefully) helpful as I try to be? 😀

Re: Urgent attention of @NickBS

An age thing, @Champnet ? - you're as old as you feel. I'm chronologically the wrong side of 69.1/2, but still do things I did 40 years ago -slower, possibly, but I still do them.

Re: Urgent attention of @NickBS

This looks like a more significant bug than previously reported around minor discrepancies with 'users online' being displayed.

This went via a Khoros ticket and they advised it was issues with our own customisation. Unfortunately we don't have any developers that have depth of knowledge of this customisation anymore. So this was very tricky to pick apart. And given it was a relatively low impact issue, we decided to park it.

Are we saying that the issues have worsened and the module is disappearing completely? Does this happen regularly or was it a one off?

Re: Urgent attention of @NickBS

@NickBS The total disappearance was a 'one-off', from what I have observed, and as I said, it 'corrected' itself - in stages, very soon after I started the topic. However, the associated issue, of a user being removed from the online list an hour after logging in, or starting a session on a machine still exists - you are even shown as 'offline' when you are actually logged in and posting.

Re: Urgent attention of @NickBS

OK - let me know if you see any other repeats of complete disappearance - but the 'Who's online' discrepancies are inline with the known issue.

Interestingly, I've been doing some Community market research recently and very few Communities have a 'Who's online' type module. So it might we worth us hiding the module, especially if it has bugs. So would be keen to hear thoughts on that proposal.

Re: Urgent attention of @NickBS

It is unlikely I or anyone else will see the complete disappearance issue - that one I reported was the only one I have seen. Can you explain though, why a user who is obviously on line - and posting - is not shown on the display, and whose status on their profile is 'offline', when they clearly 'online'?

Strangely enough, I am a member of various 'communities', and the majority of those, on various platforms, do have a 'who's online' module.

@NickBS

Personally I think that no data is far better than incorrect or inaccurate data.
