And this relates to MY suggestion HOW? I said try a clean profile, installing FF over an existing one KEEPS the same profile.

There's no hover, it's the Javascript message box that he's used. The code is:

OK.. Thanks Jelv, for your messages to try to "sus" this out...
I have set up a second laptop... My Hannspree 10"... running W7 Starter... and FF22...
I get exactly the same problem....on both machines......
When I click on the little message box I get the following http address
community.plus.net/forum/index.php?action=pm   this is the page that I don`t get the r/h scroll bar on...
and I get the same address when I click on My Messages (above)... yet this time ..... the r/h scroll bar appears.....  Undecided

I still can't duplicate the problem even trying both the http and the https versions - most odd
Even tried disabling javescript

Can you see the right-hand edge of the FF window when the scroll bar is missing? Just wondering if it is there but out of sight because the window is wider than the screen?

Why should one page be wider than every other page on the site?  on two machines???? 
I cannot check that until someone sends me a new message.... and this site tells me via the little message box... !.  every other way of viewing and answering messages is workin fine...

OK... Thanks Jim....
No... there is no "hidden" scroll bar...  moved the bottom task bar to the right hand side of the screen, and the edge of the Message page moved in accordingly... I checked the distance between the X box at the top right, and the edge of the screen... when I moved the bottom task bar... it was exactly the same distance from the edge of the task bar as it was to the edge of the screen... (about 1mm)..
on the message reply box... moving the bottom task bar revealed about half the "send" box... which was hidden below... but that is not the answer to the missing scroll bar...
Now this is REALLY WEIRED !! ! ...
I had the Forum Index page open on one window.... showing all the boards and a scroll bar on the right ......
I went from the message page ( without the scroll bar ) and clicked on Forum at the top of the page... and.....
when I had the Forum Index page open..... no scroll bar....   
so ... Two windows open on the same page.... one with scroll bar and one without....  Weired?  or what ?

Suggestion: When you get the pop-up say no. Then when it's convenient click MY MESSAGES. That will avoid the issue.

Yeah... that is a "work around"  ... !  so is clicking on the email linky....but doesn`t answer the original question... esp when I can get the same page up on the same laptop, one with and one without the scroll bar... ! 
ah well....
Thanks for your efforts guys... probably somebody will go to sleep tonight and dream about it, and post the answer tomorrow...  Roll_eyes

OK... Sorry for delay in answering.....
see below... for actual photographs of the top right hand corner of my laptop screen.....
006 is the screen view AFTER clicking on the little message box
007 is the screen view of the actual message    
both clearly show NO right hand scroll bar..... and yet....
008 is the same message accessed via "My Messages"....  WITH THE SCROLL BAR...
both 007 and 008 are open at the same time on my laptop, in different windows....
Now. WHY have I not got the scroll bar on 007 and 008?

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT.....
Just noticed that the top tool bar is missing on the screen with no right hand scroll bar.... 
see pic 009
yet in pic 010.... the tool bar is there, .... and so is the scroll bar....
any help?
