Hi i cant post here now since Firefox update to 46 , secure connection failed.

Since updating to FF46 I get this but only occasionally and there doesn't appear to be a pattern but does seem happen more when editing posts.

Edit: Editing posts is now impossible so, for the time being, have switched to Chrome

Unfortunately I can't reboot at the moment as I am halfway through a large download and don't want to have to restart it.

Suggestion - may or may not be relevant - try clearing caches and do <ctrl>F5
Something I now do quite regularly especially after any updates including add-ons.

@Anotherone Did as you suggested but no change - still can't even get a preview on an edited post.

I had already cleared cache and cookies Anotherone

and cleaned with Ccleaner , Maybe Lithium is not compatible with FF 46

I've just experienced the "sorry unable to ..." error again (in a different topic) when trying to preview the post. However an "auto save" message then appeared so I guess that was in progress.

Returning to Rich Text left the Post button inactive. Refreshing the page fixed that and Preview worked.

... the plot thickens. I've just had "sorry unable to ..." here when simply typing. That cleared after a few seconds and typing was not interrupted.

Given that a lot of the things on this forum use Javascript this problem may be related

I tried to do the Times crossword and it faulted with - you need Javascript enabled then after a short time (about 20-30 secs) it cleared and I could continue

I am still unable to edit and posts , and sommetimes get the error on new posts
