552 message rejected due to spam or virus.

You guys are really annoying me lately with you 552 message bounces.

There's on guy who sends me mail with three links at the end of his emails to his website.

If I reply to his email my emails get [-Censored-]-canned with a 552 unless I delete these lines:

Brian Valente

astro portfolio https://www.brianvalentephotography.com/astrophotography/

portfolio brianvalentephotography.com

astrobin https://www.astrobin.com/users/bvalente/

And now I get my emails to a mailing list I own 552'd as well

In this case the FULL email read:

I simply registered all the images, chose Comet+Stars stacking, marked the comet position in first, reference(highest score by default) and last frame, and told it to stack all selected images.

Subject: Re: [DeepSkyStacker] Comet image data for testing Comet mode and Comet+Stars mode in DSS

Hi David,
this image it was obtain under 'Comet + Stars Stacking' mode? o did you done the normal process?

Is this the correct process?
1) Setting-Stacking Setting- Comet tab 'Standard Stacking'  Normal Registration of the frames.
2) After Registration, then set the first, middle and last comet position with the 'Edit Comet Mode'  tool.
3) Then change the Setting-Stacking Setting to 'Comet Stacking' in the Comet Tab
4) Stack

This is for obtain the comet freeze position and stars trail.

I wrote this because sometime I have to 'invert' the process, doing first the point 3 and then the point 2.  I just want to be sure how to proceed.

Is the same process for 'Comet + Stars Stacking' mode?  (I never used it as people reported not working before)

Regards
NC

One or more of those URLs is matching a known spam fingerprint. Whilst obviously innocent in your case, there will be a good reason as to why this has happened.
I have raised it with the necessary team to take a look.

Fix

@Perdrix - the problem should be resolved. I can't guarantee it won't return though. The reason one of those sites was triggering the filters is due to spam reports for emails that contain the domain in question. Such activity has been seen by our antispam vendor as recently as last week.

@bobpullen

Is this of the profile of people who have subscribed to mailing lists but now no longer wanting the output, reporting mail from the list as spam, rather than unsubscribing? Or is it something else?

Such knee-jerk spam flagging can be quite detrimental to genuine interest groups. It would be in their interest to ensure that easy to use, visible unsubscribe options were made available.

I can't be certain, but this would be my educated guess based on the info provided by @Perdrix

Re: 552 message rejected due to spam or virus.

I'm pretty sure that it was this url: https://www.astrobin.com/k929dm/0/

That was triggering the issue in the second case.
Thank you Bob for sorting this.
