Change Plusnet sub-email address password

Me and the wife each have a separate email address at the same @xxxxxx.plus.net account.

Yesterday plusnet sent an email to my mailbox saying my wife’s mailbox had suspicious activity and she needs to change the email password, but when we log into our plusnet account there is no link to change either email password, only one to change our plusnet account password?

It looks like the old plusnet email members dashboard has been done away with and replaced by a broadband/mobile dashboard neither of which we currently have - we’re legacy email customers who paid to keep our emails live.

Re: Change Plusnet sub-email address password

@3MSW If you log into your account, click the 'Manage account details' link (top right, and scroll to the bottom of the resulting page, you will find  a 'manage your Plusnet mailboxes tab.

Re: Change Plusnet sub-email address password

Jab1,

When I login I get directed to https://www.plus.net/members-centre/home where there is no ‘Manage Account Details’ tab in the top right. There is a row of tabs starting with ‘Home’, ‘Offers and Upgraded’, ‘Manage Account’ but when I click on this tab it just lists my name, address, telephone, mobile, email, password (blanked out) and on the right hand side has links for ‘Additional Support’, ‘Referrals’ and ‘Marketing Preferences’ there is no option/link to ‘Manage Plusnet Mailboxes’.

Do you not get something like this:

Re: Change Plusnet sub-email address password

Manage Account -> manage your Plusnet mailboxes (lower part of the page) -> Mailboxes tab

Use EDIT to change the password.

NB: The password must contain at least one character from each of the 4 groups of characters...

  1. lowercase letters (a-z)
  2. uppercase letters (A-Z)
  3. numbers (0-9)
  4. any of the following symbols: !#$%&()*+,-./:;=?[]^_`{}~

Re: Change Plusnet sub-email address password

So it does, @Townman . Has it been tweaked again, because last time I had cause to look, I'm sure I had to click 'Manage Account Details' first.

Re: Change Plusnet sub-email address password

@Dan_the_Van - good one - so often these links are coded to the account so I tend not to try offering them, but instead offer guidance on how to navigate the portal.  People tend to not look / explore what is there.

@jab1 "Manage Account" was the first item in the breadcrumbs trail of my post.

Re: Change Plusnet sub-email address password

So, I had to speak to a technical person on the Plusnet phone help line who said that as I’m just a legacy email holder without a current broadband or mobile package, logging into the members page won’t provide me with a link to manage my emails - an oversight on whoever coded the new members centre page.

We figured out that the only way to access mail properties for legacy email only customers was to manually type the address https://plus.net/manage_my_email into your browser whilst logged into the broadband manage my account page on another tab - there is no link from here!

Low and behold, when I come off the phone, that was the suggestion on the forum too, but the broadband members page needs recoding to show this link for legacy email only customers in my opinion.

Fair enough, @Townman . As you can imagine, I rarely go there now - usually if someone asks a question, and I seem to recall I had to go via 'Manage Account Details' as on my screenshot, previously.

No matter, the OP is sorted.
