Hi. After all the problems we have all endured over the last week or so I still have no outgoing emails on my legacy @waitrose.com account.
I have tried webmail I can log in and see all my emails but I cannot send outgoing I keep getting " 'SMTP error 535' "
if I send from Thunderbird I again get :-
"Login to server smtpmail.waitrose.com with (myusernername)@waitrose.com failed."
I also get:-
" Unable to authenticate to outgoing server (SMTP) smtpmail.waitrose.com. please check password and verify the 'Authentication method ' in 'Account settings | outgoing (SMTP'."
What is curious is that I am already logged in to my mail account and that my password has been accepted I can read all my mail both in T'Bird and in Webmail any any clues as to what is wrong?
It would appear that there is no connection to either the SMTP server where waitrose.com email lives or the password authentication from the mail account is not being passed on or the password check between the systems is corrupted.
Yes I have tried the help desk and very helpful but no solution
I have left it until now hoping it would all be sorted but no.
Anyone else having this problem?

Haven't used T Bird for years, but never allow that programme to try
& set the settings automatically.

Thanks for the information. I appreciate that it may be a separate financial arrangement between John Lewis and PlusNet as is the PlusNet/BT/EE arrangement but no doubt they are all run from the same Server farm and DR sites. I need some one with knowledge of how the network is put together so that it give me a fighting chance when I go back to the Helpdesk to try and guide them in the right direction.

2 passwords in conflict it would appear.
