I see an email from accounts on my usual Gmail address also bearing the above address, leastways d*********.plus.com. Do I have a Plusnet mailbox somewhere which I don't know about. What do I do with this spurious address and why have I been lumbered with it, or is it something useful like duck.com ?

AFAIK, that address was created automatically when you opened your account, so that Plusnet had a default address to send you notifications - like your monthly invoices &c.

Where would I find this overflowing mailbox full of notifications accumulated over recent years? It's almost as bad as Paypal who send me emails to let me know that there is an email waiting for me in an account that I have told them that I cannot access. 😂

If you go to webmail, I think you can access it from there if you haven't created it on your mail program. Not 100% sure, as I removed it when I changed to a 'mail only' account and no longer needed it.
