Dynamic/Static ip address

2 questions:

1) anyone have a rough idea how often a dynamic ip address changes and what makes it cahnge.

2) Could someone point me to a PN web page where I can find the cost of a static ip address and how to request one should I need it

I've just tried chat support and it's a complete waste of space - I assume it's not human

Thanks

Paul

Re: Dynamic/Static ip address

@paulgul

A static IP costs a one off £5.00

It should be available via your Members page under Add Ons or Extras or something of that ilk.

Re: Dynamic/Static ip address

@paulgul
Whenever your hub reboots it picks up an IP address from a small pool, so you might be allocated the same one or it might change. There is a single £5 charge for a static one which you get by logging in to your Plusnet account and selecting Add Ons. You will find this if you select the More tab on your account Home page.

Re: Dynamic/Static ip address

@Baldrick1 Thanks for the reply but the only thing listed in the addon page is Norton security - I can't find a "more" tab anywhere

Re: Dynamic/Static ip address

@paulgul I understand that static IPs need to be requested either via a call to PN - and hope you get an agent who knows what they are , or - possibly a better idea, post a request on the 'Everything Else' board on here, and wait for a staff member to pick it up.The 'add-ons' route does not work, currently.

Re: Dynamic/Static ip address

@paulgul

Is it not below the Norton entry?

My option to remove it is because I already have one.

Edit

Looks like @jab1 is more up to date than me. I have had one for many years.

Re: Dynamic/Static ip address

@Baldrick1 Even if it is, as I've said above, it does not work.
