FTTP from PlusNet?

Hello Everyone, new registered poster here.
I have been with PN for several years now on unlimited fibre FTTC, and have been happy with it for down and upload speeds, but it looks like BT's copper lines will be discontinued over the next 4 years as the FTTP network takes over.
My PN contract ends in a couple of weeks, and I have the option of renewing it for another 18 months, which will bring it to September next year. For contract renewal PN's monthly price is lower then I was paying, and I am happy about that.
However, going by Openreach's work schedule timeline pdf, FTTP cable infrastructure will be installed in my address from April/May 2022 to April/May 2025, thou my first older brother has informed me that FTTP cable work has already begun about a mile from my address.
Has Plus Net given any information as to prices, or news in general for when it'll be offering FTTP?

The only news is "later this year" - they've already missed 3 informal deadlines. There will be no information about prices etc until they are ready to launch.
I suspect the delay is in getting the back office systems ready for FTTP. Until they are they can't offer a product.

Right, thanks for that, looks like it'll be towards the end of my new contract i.e. September 2023 when we'll have some definite news.
Odd as EE also owned by BT is now advertising FTTP, but then until my address has the fibre installed I'll be with FTTC.

If it's not around by Sep 2023 then PlusNet are in trouble!!!
I would image you'll be able to upgrade to FTTP at any point in your contract though it might mean a new contract.
Should FTTP appear for your address on the Checker before PlusNet launch then you can move to BT or EE FTTP free of any early termination charges - you just need to let them know first.

@Christopher6503 Welcome to the forum. 🙂
If you've heard nothing by June, you could try the dandelion forecast. 😏

I suspect that Plusnet will do it once they get one of these:
Moderator and Customer
If this helped - select the Thumb
If it fixed it, help others - select 'This Fixed My Problem'

"If it's not around by Sep 2023 then PlusNet are in trouble!" - I'd be inclined to agree - competitors are offering FTTP contracts for little more than PlusNet are charging for FTTC, and I for one am not going to wait around to see if PlusNet ever decide to get up to speed (pardon the pun!)
