Proof of (discontinued) phone number after full fibre upgrade, for porting to VOIP service

I'll be upgrading to full fibre (it finally arrived on my street 😀) in March, and thus losing my PN copper phone number. I want to move that existing number to a VOIP provider (probably A&A). If I understand things correctly, I need to do that after the fibre upgrade is complete so as not to mess things up. Thus the phone number will no longer be 'mine' at that point.

What proof of previous ownership can I give to A&A (or whomever) of the ceased number?

My PN bill does not specify my phone number and I can't find anything on the PN account website that I could use (like a pdf) other than taking a screenshot of a page that shows the number. I can't find what A&A requires on their site, but another VOIP provider says they need proof in the form of a bill showing name, address and telephone number.

I'm guessing I'm not the first person to do exactly this... so what has worked for others?

Fix

Thus the phone number will no longer be 'mine' at that point.

The phone number is still 'yours' for 30 days after ceasing.

What proof of previous ownership can I give to A&A (or whomever) of the ceased number?

You shouldnt need anything, details of the number , your name and address and the previous provider should be sufficient. You used to have to complete an LAC ( Letter of authorisation ) confirming that you 'owned' the number but I think thata's been superseded by use of the OTS (One touch switch) system

If I sign in to my account then open my Plusnet bill & scroll down to the itemised calls list it shows my phone number at the top of the page.

Or I can click on PHONE in my account section & again it shows my phone number.

Either of those should be enough to prove to the new supplier that the phone number was being used by you.

You can download your bill & open it as a PDF.

When I moved to my provider, I asked for the port the day after my fibre commenced. They run some basic checks to make sure the number is yours. Line down for under a day and up at silly o' clock the day after. I use an app on my mobile now so I can get home calls anywhere, couldn't be bothered with setting up a adaptor box.

I did not need to provide A&A with proof of ownership when I ported my (ceased) landline number to them. You just need your Plusnet account number and surname for the A&A order form.

@LordFox

If you choose A&A and use their web page for ordering (as opposed to OneTouch) I believe it has a section where you click on a box to "port ceased number"

Do not start the port until you have confirmation from PN your FTTP is complete.

Never heard of anyone having to "prove" ownership of the number.
