static ip gone ( again )

hi,

my static ip has gone again, to be honest not checked in a while, but i've had it a long long time

can it be restored please, the control page in settings does not appear to work

Hi Pete! What have you noticed that's changed? I ask as I've checked your account and the same static IP that's been in place for a long while is still there and is assigned to your connection at the moment.

ah ok, was trying to lookup the ip on your website but it doesn't show it

just a button to switch to static so i assumed...

To check your IP Address click on https://www.whatsmyip.org this displays the public IP Address for you connection.

The displayed hostname will indicate if you have a dynamic IP Address and will be in the format 10.0.208.46.dyn.plus.net.

For a static IP Address it could be <yourbroadbandusername>.plus.net or your requested rDNS choice.

Hey @bluewhale,

Looking over the components on your account, it seems the Static IP Address listed on there is an older version of the component, which is why you'd have the option to add the current "modern" one on via the Member Centre. That being said, there's no effective difference in how the legacy component will operate, just that it's been renamed on the back end of our systems over the years Smiley
