Re: Cancelling contract due to rubbish connection

Thanks, @MisterW That will probably help the OP - and maybe me if someone else using the same equipment asks a similar question.

Re: Cancelling contract due to rubbish connection

TBH I cant quite understand why the CSC would suggest a W9970 , its not a very powerful router. Whilst it has a very good modem (and I've used one in the past as just that) its Wifi is only 11n and the processor is not the best. Having said that, it should be able to cope with a 40/10 connection...

I can't imagine why CSC should suggest any device - even the Help Team on here only suggest asking other Community members for advice.

Because it's probably the cheapest combined modem/router that you can buy? Either way it sounds like pretty poor advise to me!

Re: Cancelling contract due to rubbish connection

Thanks for your post @stacylouise1

I'm really sorry to see you're having a lot of issues with your connection.

I've tested your line today and the tests are showing what's known as an "Impairment in copper joint detected most likely in local network" so I'd like to arrange an Openreach engineer visit with you to investigate further.

Could you reply to the ticket I've logged on your account Here with when you'll be available for a visit?

If you can post back once you've responded, I'll make sure we book the engineer as soon as we can.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.
