FTTP in my area

My parents' premises have been connected to FTTP (via plusnet), they are literally a few roads away (less than 2-minute drive), some roads around my area are also connected. I saw Openreach installing a pole and running cables overhead back in August.. however, my road is still not connected - is this like luck of the draw?

On a side note - when I go to upgrades on my profile I get

An error has occurred

You cannot make any changes to your account while there is a phone order in progress. I have no idea how to get rid of it as now I am unable to see if I can indeed upgrade or not ( I'm forced to use openreach checker in the meantime). Appreciate your help , thanks

@bladerunner

Check the following to see if FTTP is planned for your address.

https://www.openreach.com/fibre-checker

Either phone PN Support or wait for a staffie to pick up on the error message. I'm afraid it's not unknown.

Re: FTTP in my area

For my address, that page says Openreach FTTP will be available some time between now and December 2026.

Not exactly committing themselves to a date, are they? 😀

Luckily, we do have CityFibre available, if I feel the need for more speed in the mean time.

@Mr_Paul

At least this new version tells you OR are thinking about FTTP for your property. You don't have to go searching elsewhere to see if there are any plans.

Re: FTTP in my area

@bmc

I was using this page:

https://www.openreach.com/fibre-broadband/where-when-building-ultrafast-full-fibre-broadband

That says "To be built between April 2022 and April 2025" for my postcode, so the goalposts are moving - in the wrong direction 😞

Re: FTTP in my area

With regard to the 'An error has occured' you need to ring the support people and get them to refer the problem to the 2nd level of support who should then be able to delete the phone order.

That is what I had to do, but it was not easy to convince the support person I spoke to to do this!!
