For anyone else stuck in this position, I've found this service which seems to be free and is so far working well. It has a client app that I can run to keep the DNS records up-to-date as my dynamic IP changes. Hopefully this will tide me over until my static IP comes back.

@paulspeller from what device are you running this speedtest, and how is it connected to your hub?
Are you using the supplied ethernet cable (one with the red ends) between your hub and the ONT?
I personally use No-IP for my dynamis DNS needs. The account can be configured directly on the Hub Two to avoid any need to run any local client software.

@bobpullen the OP seems to have had a faulty cable , see here https://community.plus.net/t5/Full-Fibre/Openreach-supplied-dodgy-100Mbps-limited-Ethernet-cable/m-p...

Thanks for this recommendation, will keep it in mind, although I think that only does one hostname for free and I have a few configured, but they're mostly non-essential so could be a good option to tide me over until the static IP fault is resolved.

@paulspeller - I have three free hostnames under the same No-IP account.

Thanks for the info @bobpullen . Created an account to help while we wait for our statics back.
Seems to work fine with the Hub 2

I also have a static IP and had FTTP installed last week.
Day 1 the new FTTP connected with the static IP and at full speed as advertised.
The next day the hub rebooted (I think firmware update applied) and since then been on a different IP.
The ping time seems lower on the dynamic IP; speed remains at full, as I pay for.
I use ZoneEdit for DNS anyway so have configured that within the Hub 2 settings and created a new dynamic host, which is working well.
My old static IP still shows on the PlusNet portal under static IP settings.
Won't chase this for now - I'll follow this thread and see what the plan is.
