Fibre connection awful keeps dropping out

Hi, I'm on unlimited fibre and every time I've upgraded my internet the connection is never up to scratch. It is frequently dropping out. I'm not really sure what I'm paying for here - it's like being on dial up 40 years ago! I've looked into trying to get a proper fibre to house connection but it seems that's not available to my home. What do I have to do to get a reliable good internet connection???

Re: Fibre connection awful keeps dropping out

Hi @Razz, thanks for getting in touch and I'm sorry to hear you're having connection issues as of recent. Looking over your connection from this side and seen by the graph below I can see the drops you've mentioned that look to be flaring up. Our testing from this side however isn't highlighting any underlying faults or causes of the drops so I'd recommend first of all running through a few internal check your side first of all tot begin ruling a few things out.

I'd recommend starting with basic checks here: http://goo.gl/p2tpvL

And if that doesn't help the next thing would be to rule your internal wiring out by plugging the connection into your test socket which is under the faceplate of your master socket and seeing if the drops stop. This rules out internal wiring, face plates and extension sockets as being the cause. How to locate the test socket and set your connection into it can be found here:

I hope this helps and please do let us know how it goes.
