I wouldn't have thought so. The duct doesn't look thick enough to carry two cables plus they would still have to access behind the protective cover to get to the end of it.
I would guess OR will need to do a survey to discover how much digging is required and then schedule the work.
I've tagged one of the PlusNet FTTP bods to see if he can shed any light on the status of your order.

The fibre cable itself is the same thickness as that existing cable and is very strong so you could probably push it straight up alongside the copper cable without removing the cover.
Alternatively they could just bypass the grey cover altogether.

I didn't look at the foot of the picture - you've got good eyesight!!!
I would agree - that certainly looks like a duct which would be useable.

The second thing I’m currently wondering is where open reach would put the internal box. From the image I’ve attached it shows the current master socket location. I’ve also circled where the copper cable currently enters the building from outside. The cable is then run I’m guessing behind the plaster. If I get the fibre install where the current copper enters can open reach get the fibre box (not sure what the technical name is called) installed next to the current master socket or would it be in the porch? Would I be best to let them install a new duct and go through them digging up the drive etc and get them to place it on the outside near where I want it internally?
Thanks
Phil

I'm in a similar situation as you, I'm wondering how on earth they're going to get it in as the downstairs toilet is behind where the copper goes in. I'm hoping there is just ducting in the walls and they can just push that flexible plastic rodding to the socket.
That may hopefully be the same case for you as you're house doesn't look too old either.

There is a certain lee way in both where the cable comes into the house and where the ONT is situated (apart from it must be near a power source).
The cable can be run along the outside wall like a satellite cable but not past doors (I believe). Once inside the house the outer cover is stripped off the fibre optic cable and it can be stapled to the skirting board to reach a desired location. However, once in it's fixed.
For my house it came in beside the original phone line but I then had it run round two walls to reach a spare power socket - which was also out of the way. Although I had planned to have the router here as well I eventually ran about 17m of ethernet cable (including through a wall and up and over a door frame) so the router is beside my PC's.
