Having problems with speed

both line and contract should be capable of more speed, but I think I am being capped at 54999kbps & 14999kbps respectively, bt's linetester & my router say we should be getting more speed than this

Re: Having problems with speed

Thanks for your post @bacchus144 and welcome to our Community Forums.

I'm sorry to see you're having speed issues. I've tested your line today and the tests are showing a battery contact fault, which would likely be the cause for this, so I've raised a fault with our suppliers and we've been given an estimated response time of by 11/02/22 23:59:59 for an engineer to investigate further.

We'll provide an update as soon as we know more. Once we've confirmed the fault to be fixed, if your speed doesn't improve automatically, let me know and I can arrange for the 55mbps & 15mbps bandings to be removed.

Let me know how it goes.

Re: Having problems with speed

the internet still seems to be slow- by the standards our router suggests, but it seems to have picked up about 5mb/s extra, but it seems as though we are hitting the banding

Re: Having problems with speed

Fix

Thanks for getting back to me @bacchus144

I can see an engineer went out on Thursday and fixed a fault on your line, then it looks like your line was automatically reset by Friday, as the banding has updated to "Downstream: 0.128M-80M with Retransmission (Low). Upstream: 0.128M-20M with no error protection" which suggests there's now no artificial restriction on your speeds.

I've tested your line and the tests aren't showing any issues today with your router getting 60mbps. As the estimated speed range is currently 52.9mbps to 72.8mbps, I don't think there's much more we can do to improve on what you're getting I'm afraid, but let me know if you have further issues and I'll be happy to help.
