My tracert also times out after 6 hops but I have never had any problems accessing the National Lottery online. My own gut reaction would be that you'd need to be looking closer to home rather than an external source blocking it. AdBlock etc etc.

Glad it's not just me as it's been doing my head in over last couple of days.  It just times out every time & I get - ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT
I have always been able to access National Lottery but since the weekend it's been virtually unobtainable.  I know they had problems on Saturday/Sunday with the record draw etc but nothing since then.
If I use my phone whilst connected to my wifi It times out but as soon as I switch off wifi on my phone & use my own phone's data then I can access it straight away, so it's definitely a Plusnet/router problem?
I've tried it on Chrome, Firefox & Internet Explorer all with no joy - tried turning my router on & off numerous times but no joy.  Help!

                         It affects any device connected to my P/N connection, desktop/laptop/iPad/mobile phones. Obviously all with different operating systems/browsers etc.
if the iPad & mobiles are connected to their relative mobile networks the NL site loads ok.
Saying that, any similar sites related to gambling/betting etc  are not affected using the P/N connection. Only N/L.
Also it was working ok yesterday & this suddenly happened today. I have not changed any settings at all.
The only thing that might of changed is my P/N ip address, I can't change the ip address away from the 143.159.xxx.xx group though, however many times I disconnect & reconnect the router.

                              Sounds exactly the same as me then! Reckon it's a P/N network issue.
Is your ip address  in the 143.159 group same as mine?
Saying all that I had an email from The N/L tonight say there may be more problems this weekend due to demand.

Those on dynamic IP's who have been moved to the new network probably won't be able to get away from the 143 IP's at the moment. We're aware of the National Lottery issue though and we're looking into it. Not sure if it's actually anything to do with the new network mind you.

Yep - my IP is 143.159.xxx.xxx.  And I also just got that email 5 mins ago from NL!
Guess I'll have to use my mobile internet to buy my tickets for now......

What is this new network?
Seems ironic that @whitehall is also on 143.159 group as well & having the same problems!
Glad the problem has been acknowledged by P/N though, connected with the new network or not..

There's discussion about the new network elsewhere round these parts. Saw someone earlier on a 146 IP reporting problems so no idea what the cause is at this point. Wouldn't like to speculate until it's been looked into.

Same problem here, couldn't access the lottery website and I figured it might be a Plusnet issue so checked here. I also knew I was recently switched to a 146.xxx.xxx.xxx Infonet IP so after seeing that suggested as the problem in this thread I disconnected, waited a few mins and reconnected (via the technicolour router admin page). I'm now back on a 87.xxx.xxx.xxx Plusnet IP and the lottery website is working again.

I can more or less say it is definitely a Plusnet issue.
I connected my mobile phone to a friend's wireless network last night, he is on Virgin Media, & the lottery website worked straight away no problem.
Now back home I cannot access it again on my Plusnet connection with any of my devices.
Unfortunately it seems I am on this so called new network & cannot get off the 143.159 ip address range however many times I disconnect & re-connect.
I hope P/N sort this out by the weekend, it is totally wrong that I have to use my precious mobile data to access the Lottery website when I am paying P/N for the privilege.
We can all but hope, miracles do happen! 
As an aside it seems my download speed/ip profile has been slashed by 6-7 meg as well, bet this is to do with the wonderful "new network" as well.
More of this later.

just restarted router now on Ip address starting 87  because I had not logged out of my plusnet forum account I got welcomed back with a Howdy hooverman  Is this new Plusnet policy or the remnants of the Californian Ip address LOL  ,  Ive now bought my lottery ticket

My only option is is to contact Camelot directly & inform them of the situation. See if they can force P/N's hand to sort it.
They have already told me it must be an isp issue.
Failing that there is always Offcom.
Even a member of P/N's staff has admitted on here they cannot access the Lottery website, so what gives?

I do know that when I was living abroad I couldn't access the National Lottery website from where I was living. Nowadays you have to be in the UK to use it. Presumably these IP addresses that are affected are registered abroad otherwise I suspect you wouldn't have any problems. Do you have the same issues with the BBC Iplayer?
The reason none of it affects me is that I signed up for a static IP not long after I joined PN .  Smiley

Put bluntly, because they belong to us and they make up the pool of addresses that we assign to customers with dynamic IP's. Whlst the IP's are registered to a company in the States, they are geo-located in the United Kingdom. There's plenty of information about this over in the thread here if you've a spare thirty minutes or so Wink

For the sake of clarity, we have customers on the new network who are assigned static IP's outside of these ranges. It is true that some of you on dynamic IP's will be unable to get away from them at present though.

The National Lottery, and the geolocation provider they use have been contacted plenty of times before (you'll see reference to this in the other thread I linked to above). In fact, this issue with the site hasn't been seen until recently, and it has been possible to log into the National Lottery site before now when assigned an IP from one of these ranges.
Something must have changed recently and we're looking into it as per my post here.

Throwing my hat into the ring here with the same issue Smiley
Only started in the last couple of weeks, using PTW-BNG01 and 02 gateways, same on multiple computers and mobile and tablet on wifi, switching to another ISPs wifi (BT) it works fine so isn't anything to do with my devices it seems Smiley
