Re: NEW FTTP 2022

@deekayw Glad I could be of help. Localphone rates are comparable to monthly packages of many other companies. I do not work for them or related in anyway Smiley They are a VAT registered company and charge UK VAT. If you are a VAT registered company, paying from your business bank account you can claim the VAT back.

@MisterW You are right about sipgate to sipgate calls. Actually, it is possible to call one SIP provider to another for free as well, with some config and knowing the sip id. Static IP of Plusnet would also be of help here.

Re: NEW FTTP 2022

Anyone with recent experience of a Sipgate migration? I e-mailed them two days ago to start the process, and so far no reply.

It's also possible to call using just the IP address of the callee if you know it.

Worry not, reply received this morning, with an apology for the delay due to a German public holiday yesterday.

Re: NEW FTTP 2022

@Teece  thats good. I ported last year and was just checking the communications, they replied within 24 hrs and the process was pretty smooth.

There's a few on here who've ported numbers to Sipgate so if you have any queries on the porting forms, post up and we'll advise.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: NEW FTTP 2022

Cheers - they had very clear details on how to complete the forms on their website.

Quite exciting - e-mail was decoupled from my plusnet account years ago, only a few newsletters still going to the old .plus.com address, now phone will be decoupled too.

Re: NEW FTTP 2022

Thanks for that Teece - I emailed to start the process of changing my basic number on Saturday and hadn't heard but your comment explains why.

Re: NEW FTTP 2022

Hiya,

No as mine is a change of number rather than porting a number,   I'm South East Sheffield and the number was Louth in Lincolnshire as elderly relatives over there years ago didn't have a call package as they didn't use 'phone much and if they did to ring me STD was costly for them in those days so I took out a basics so they could call me cheaper with a local number.   They've been gone a little while now and when I knew I was losing my plusnet landline a couple of the helpful guys on here mentioned Sipgate so that reminded me to 'resurrect' that and have the number changed.

About 15 minutes after replying to you I got an email from Sipgate, asking me to confirm my request and by 12:15 the process had been completed and I could select a new Sheffield number.

Thank you for your input, and also thanks again to SamX, MisterW and others for their input over last few days.

K

Re: NEW FTTP 2022

Might have been quicker to open a new account?

Re: NEW FTTP 2022

Could have been but  have a tenners credit on the account from all that time ago but all's well that ends well so, fingers crossed 29th activation of FTTP goes ahead as, I think, I heard in a news broadcast last night that OpenReach were balloting for strike action alongside all the others striking.  If that happens at least we have 3 other companies doing installs around here so job might be given to one of those.
