Connection is due to change from FTTC to Full Fibre. Some properties on this cul de sac are connected to the pole and my neighbour across the road recently had hers connected to it for FF.
My broadband/telephone has always been underground. Question is, will I have to have an overhead wire too? The pole is quite close to the property.

@SteelCity1 Your Full Fibre connection will be underground, via the same ducting. To confirm, can you please post the full output from : https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL or https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome (if your connection is currently SOGEA). In both cases, redact any personal detail.

@SteelCity1 what does the availability checker https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome say for your address , particularly the narrative below the availability results

@SteelCity1 looks like the fibre IS going to be an overhead feed from the pole.
I guess if there was already poles , then it was easier for Openreach to use those for the FTTP rather than dig ducts.

@eleted - @MisterW beat me to it, and I didn't spot the bottom line.

The checker shows 'no anticipated issues' and a '1-stage' install i.e everything done in one visit.
So I would assume its a straighforward fibre from the nearest pole, secured at the eaves, then run down to ground floor level and the CSP located there. Then internal fibre through the wall to the ONT located internally.

Oh, that is a shame. I really did not want that. I know it sounds petty, but that’s how I feel so can’t be helped. I don’t know whether to ask if I could cancel now. Is it possible? Installation is over one week away.
Thank you for your replies. Much appreciated.

I just prefer not to have an overhead connection. Underground seems better.

Current underground feed may be "Direct in Ground", and therefore no duct to route the new fibre through?
.

While it appears it's going to be an o/h connection you speak to the installer on the day to agree the works. If an u/g connection is possible they may well do it.
However the fibe cable feeds back to a Connectorized Block Terminal (CBT). You'll see one at the top of the pole. There may not be one in the u/g chamber serving your house.
On a related point, there is some leeway as to where the internal Optical Network Terminator (ONT) is situated. If going overhead you may have the choice of 2 external walls for the external cable to be attached which would help with the siting ot the ONT. Remember it needs a power source.

My thoughts too - Full Fibre is, AFAIK, not done as DIG.
