Network rule.

Size of datagrams always increase as they progress up the stack.

(or something like that).

Don't think Openreach won't allow customer to have BBEU or ALID. As I do understand it must needing for SoGEA FTTC and FTTP (no telephone number) to check BTWholesale Additional Diagnostic for the line IP Profile to ensure to matched PN IP Profile side. Without BBEU or ALID will be very annoying as I am sure the customer have the rights to request it from the service provider as the GEA Test normally show BBEU but it blanked out by Plusnet staff for extra security protection on the public forum.

If so, this would suggest the second number might be an internal OpenReach identifier.

Neither Mr Google nor Mr DuckDuckGo returned any results on my numbers.

The second number beginning with A000… on the address checker is the NAD (Network Address) Key. It’s used to identify an address in the Openreach systems.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

very possibly, mine has EM ,  East midlands would be right for me

Yep, mine shows WM - would be correct for West Midlands.
