Cannot call my wife's mobile from Landline.

Can anyone throw any light on the following:

My wife's mobile phone is on and working ok.

I can call her on my mobile.

However I cannot call her using my landline - I get a couple of ring tone bursts followed by what sounds like an engaged signal but her phone is not engaged at the time.

I can call my mobile from my landline.

I am ringing her correct number!

I should probably get out more often but I am really intrigued as to what is happening.

Any responses will be most welcome.

Sounds like the landline number is blocked on your wifes phone.

Without knowing the type of phone it's hard to give further advice apart from rtfm

Hi cyrilclark1, 

I don't think this is an issue with your wife's mobile.

I've tested your line and we're picking up a "loop fault" that could be causing the problem you're seeing.

I'd check to make sure the number isn't blocked on the mobile anyway but I would give us a call from a mobile if you can so we can run a few tests with everything disconnected from the line.
