Dead phone line

Hello,

I am trying to contact PlusNet support - my phone line is dead with no dial tone though the FTTC broadband still functions unaffected. I am hoping someone from support can pick up this message here as the only option offered to report a phone line issue involves sending a text, which I can't do. No other option is provided and there seems to be no other online way to contact support (no email address, no chat facility).

I have tried using the line test facility but it indicates there is no problem. I have also tried connecting the corded phone to the master socket behind the integrated microfilter front cover, still no dial tone.

I need the phone line working as it is needed for verifying online purchases.

Also to report that it is impossible to register for the forum using the link in the signing in dialog as the "verify you are a human" checkbox is not shown and you can't get past the dialog because of this. I found another route where this checkbox was shown, so finally managing to get here.

Re: Dead phone line

@tghewett Unfortunately Help Team visibility is rather poor on here. Can you not call in from a neighbours/friends phone?

Re: Dead phone line

My phone went dead earlier this week, broadband working fine.

If you have a mobile, text PHONE to 07800008121.

I did this and after a few tests Plusnet reported that Openreach are sorting the problem.

Hope this helps

Re: Dead phone line

I have noticed that previous similar reports by others in the last couple of weeks have received replies and action from the support team so hope the same can happen for me. I have no other way of contacting them.

If this forum is an option for getting hold of support then it is better than imposing on neighbours etc.. At least the broadband still works.

Re: Dead phone line

@tghewett As I have said  above, Help Team involvement on the forums these days is very poor. Can you not call from a neighbour, or someone else's mobile, if you do not have one?

Re: Dead phone line

@tghewett I have tested the line and it isn't showing a fault. What checks have been tried?

@jab1 I am here to prove you all wrong haha

Re: Dead phone line

@willcutforth: The most basic check I have done has been that mentioned above, i.e. putting the main corded phone in the master socket behind the integrated mirofilter as mentioned, all other phone equipment disconnected.
