Loss of Service Compensation

I won’t bore you with the details but I have a long standing support ticket from July where I lost my landline connection. It was finally resolved in October. Today I spoke to someone about compensation. I was told I would receive about £500…..BUT it will be paid into my PlusNet account. So presumably if I leave PlusNet before the £500 is used up I will lose it?! This isn’t compensation is it? Isn’t this account credit? I’m so angry I’ve already been in touch ofcom and the communications ombudsman. I wanted to message here before I also consult a solicitor. I’ve lost my landline, I’ve paid for a service I didn’t receive and now this. Thoughts please?

Re: Loss of Service Compensation

IF you leave  before that credit is used up, the balance  will be paid to you once the account is fully closed.

Re: Loss of Service Compensation

@sean_herring the compensation is defined by Ofcom here https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-telecoms-and-internet/advice-for-consumers/costs-and-billing/automat... and by default is specified as a credit to your account
