Claiming credit on closed account

Hi, Just wondered if the closing credit balance on my account is automatically refunded to my payment method or whether I need to request this in some way? Service has ceased at contract end and router returned so everything should be in order.

Re: Claiming credit on closed account

On a Plusnet account that I used to manage for a relative until it was closed in September 2023, the payment method had always been by credit card, the FTTC broadband was "gaining provider led" transferred to another ISP without notifying Plusnet of the account closure. Approximately three weeks later, Plusnet sent a cheque in the post for the closing credit balance.

So the refund wasn't paid to the still active payment method, and happened automatically without having to request it.

@southerner  Generally if you are paying by direct debit any credit will automatically be repaid by that method if it is still active.
